he Ferrarese School meets Lucrezia Borgia thanks to the 'Laboratorio Teatrale Permanente'(permanent theatrical laboratory) set up by the 'Nuovo Polo Superiore G. Carducci-D. Dossi', which involves students of different Secondary Schools of Ferrara. Astolfo on the Moon is a project in phase of research and experimentation on the new narration forms in contemporary society centred on the spectacular forms of the renaissance banquet, fundamental moment of the courtesan life of the Estensi period, analysed and interpreted not in a traditional way but looking for a contemporary re-examination of its most outstanding moments.
With laboratory research, which leads from tradition to innovation on the principle of the transmission of one's own experience of the great craft of art-literature, the participants are guided by directors, actors, stage-designers, musicians and professional teachers.
The students immerse themselves in a fascinating experience of reading and taking apart fragments of literature and chronicles from Ludovico Ariosto to Italo Calvino, in dialectic confrontation with the great inheritance of the Italian poetic tradition, to arrive at the dramatic construction of a new contemporary tale, structured on the rules of the theatre of the renaissance banquet.
The initiative involves the students of the Nuovo Polo Superiore "G. Carducci", which also includes art subjects in its curriculum, of the hotel-management school "O.Vergani" and the musical conservatoire "G.Frescobaldi", engaged in an evocative construction of the theatre which is at the same time a harking back to a human experience of politeness, reflection on the new codes of communication and an authentic playful moment.
